Again, trying something new today. :D I know I have been tagged by Crissy for the ‘things that make me smile’ meme, which will follow soon! :D However those ‘just a minute’ posts are popping up everywhere and just like with Project 365 it seems something managable for me. Today’s the last day of January, so I think it’s a good idea popping in and recapping the last month!

Feeling… Completely mixed. From good to bad, from happy to frustration, from down to high. Things changed at work, nothing changed at home, much changed online.

Reading… I tried on Twilight again but miserably failed, SO boring. Sorry folks, I’ll give it another start once I’m done with other things… And probably starting on The Jungle Books by Rudyard Kipling soon. Must read this!

Eating… Gyros, rice with pepper and tzaziki. Main food of the past two days besides bread rolls and junk food.

Drinking… Apple-cherry juice. Like, best juice ever. Srsly!

Listening to… Die Ärzte, Farin Urlaub/Racing Team, Foo Fighters, Madonna, Evanescence, Wir sind Helden, to sum up the past 1500+ songs this month. Sorted by listened most to least. :P

Working on… Too many fanlistings, my new fanlisting collective at louve.net and just today finished, my revamped domain collective at underthesky.net!

Hoping for… Summer. Longer daylight, being outside without freezing my ass off within a few minutes. That would be amazing!

Wishing… An iPad. Despite the weird name. Though I thought about it and was wondering if the second generation of iPads will be better than the first one. Hmm. Though it would be amazing having less weight on my lap every evening.

Excited about… LOST RETURNING! Two more (okay three for me!) freaking days left for the last season. And so much yay, the episodes will be available on iTunes the next day in Germany with subtitles. :D

More than two weeks have passed again… Owwies. The first week back at work I was having trouble with finding a decent sleeping pattern again – I couldn’t sleep through a night, I always woke up between 4 and 5am, didn’t dream at all and it always felt like I was half awake. It was weird but luckily this is gone now again.

In other words, I bought myself a .me domain, had a good party with my colleagues, watched Inglorious Basterds for the first time (should write another review on that!), created a fanlisting, got hooked on Lost again (less than a week until Season 6 starts! :O) and finally started working on my fanlisting collective with a sudden burst of inspiration. Thank god there’s my Project 365 to keep record of all these things that happened lately. XD

Also, the knitted cupcake I won in Manda’s Blog Relaunch Twitter Contest arrived last Saturday! At the beginning of January Manda held a contest at Twitter, giving away three different knitted cupcakes. I participated just for fun with my standard thought ‘I’ll never win anything’ but I was proven wrong. Manda has interesting blog posts to read, so if you’re yet again disappointed by the lack of posts here, go visit Manda’s blog. She updates more frequently than I do. :P

It has been just 3 hours since the new baby of Apple has been officially announced, the Apple iPad. I was constantly drooling over it while I refreshed a live ticker page that also contained photos of the show. But the most I was drooling about was the price: It starts at $499. Any other simple eBook readers might be lot cheaper, but the iPad is not just a usual eBook reader. You can listen to music, watch movies and videos, browse through your photographs, check your emails, surf the web, choose your favourite out of 140,000 apps and even install iWork software on it to have it like a small computer. It’s not the iPhone, it has no phone function and no camera. It’s also not a MacBook or iMac, it doesn’t seem to be able to run several programs next to each other or even installing complex programs like Photoshop on it. It’s a nice gadget to enjoy different kinds of media from books to movies to photos to music. I hope more details on data plans and when it will be released in Germany will follow soon, I’m strongly considering not buying the EOS 7D this year but saving up for the iPad instead. I’d go with a 3G one, probably the 64 GB version. Having an 16GB iPhone I noticed how fast all the space is eaten up by my music, so having my faves on the iPhone and the rest on the iPad, it would be a good solution. The iPhone will stay my phone but when it comes to check emails or surf the web on it, sometimes a bigger screen would make it much easier… And then there comes the iPad. Because the MacBook is too uncomfortable just to check on emails and probably search for some piece of information to carry around. And it would fit nicely into my Apple gadgets family, consisting of my MacBook and iPhone. I still can dream, can’t I? :P
To be honest, I’d rather have it named iSlate or iTablet, but now Apple went with iPad… Well, as long as they won’t start with iTampon everything will be okay. XD

Just my 2 cents on the latest news. I noticed I started babbling a lot again… The next days it’s time for two more movie reviews, Inglorious Basterds as I mentioned above and Up, which was amazing as well. :D I hope it won’t take me as long as this post. :P

Project 365

I know I haven’t been the best blogger of 2010 yet, but I just wanted to enjoy my last days of vacation and being at home and having nothing really to do. After all I was quite busy, listened to a lot of music, watched some music DVDs, practised on my guitar… I even was in the zoo and shopping in the city last Monday, it’s crazy it has been a week already since this happened.

I noticed a quite few people participating in Project 365, taking a photo a day of 2010. I think it’s a really cool idea but everyone who knows me I’m very bad at keeping such daily things up, unless it’s called Gmail, Twitter or message boards visits. On 3rd January I noticed I had taken pictures with my iPhone for every day of 2010 so far, so I decided to go for it and try such a thing again. I didn’t want to spam this blog with all those pretty senseless images, and as I had a Tumblr account sitting here for a while already waiting to get used, I decided to post all my pictures to Tumblr, which is very easy indeed! I took pictures of the entire last week, however I didn’t get around uploading them until today, so I did cheat a little. I just installed the Tumblr App on my iPhone, hoping to directly post images to Tumblr then and keep this thing up, as I have my iPhone with me everywhere I go. It’s very challenging for me to keep such stuff up, but I’ve already made 11/365, forget the little cheating.

The only picture I hadn’t taken with my iPhone was from 4th January where I visited the zoo, as it pretty much reflects the snow covered nature these days. It’s so impressive – I’m living here for four years already, and we never had so much snow over such a long time (only one or two days at maximum!). It really can be called winter this year, with snow and ice and freezing temperatures. However, I wouldn’t mind if the summer could come closer fast, now one third of January is already over. This might sound a little pathetic but having cold feet for over 12 hours already is just not fun. :P
